Als Fullerene (Einzahl: Fulleren) werden sphärische Moleküle aus Kohlenstoffatomen (mit hoher Symmetrie, z. B. Ih-Symmetrie für C60) bezeichnet, welche weitere Modifikationen des chemischen Elements Kohlenstoff (neben Diamant, Graphit und Kohlenstoffnanoröhren) darstellen.
